Available Hunts

At Hall's Bayou Ranch, we cater to our members wishes, allowing hunting for any legal game on the property. While most members emphasize waterfowl hunting as their reason for belonging, there are many other hunting experiences available.
Available hunts include:
Waterfowl hunting forms the heart of our operation. Over the years, we
have aggressively improved the wetlands conditions on the ranch,
making it one of the most attractive roosting areas on the Gulf Coast. This,
combined with our management of hunting areas insures that there will always be
a healthy population game available to our members. While we cannot guarantee
that our
members will always bag a limit since success depends on skill, an
average hunter should go home with a nice mixed bag of ducks.
During duck and goose seasons, we limit access. On any day, each membership can have a group of up to five people hunting on the ranch. The group must have at least one cardholder in it. Other than that, there are no limitations on the makeup of the group. There is no limit on the number of days that a membership can be used.
Upland bird hunting constitutes the second most popular sport for our members. Our management practices insure that we always have areas heavily populated with game. On the first day of dove season, we waive our limits on hunting party size. Members may bring as many guests as they wish, with the only requirement being that the groups remain together in the area they pick. Starting in 2004, the Ranch acquired a Dove and Quail Hunting Lease for an additional 3200 acres from a sister company. This second site not only increases the certainty of adequate game availability, it also means that we have adequate room for however many parties of whatever size that reserve fields for opening day.
Fishing
opportunities abound. Saltwater wade fishing is available in Carancahua
Lake, while our bayous, laterals, and reservoirs
offer
practically unlimited sites for freshwater fishing. We also have a boat ramp
providing access to West Bay for bay
fishing. There are no limits on the size of fishing parties.
Every year the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department gives us several Alligator tags. Although these tags are primarily used for
managing
the Ranch, we can make a few of them available to members at their
request. Since these are a limited resource they will be given out on a
first come first served basis. Although unlikely, it is possible that a
member may have to wait a year for his ’gator hunt. Several sizable droves of Wild Pigs roam the Ranch. These pigs are hunted at night in a blind. Any similarities to deer hunting end when you first see the tusks.
