Hall's Bayou Ranch Hunting Club
"A professional club for professionals who hunt"

Hunting Club Information

Hall’s Bayou Ranch operates an exclusive first-class hunting club for corporate members and their guests. We provide an environment, which is equally enticing for the game and the hunters. Membership includes year-round access to the Ranch for fishing, four wheeling, and other outdoor enjoyment.

The tradition of hunting on the Ranch goes back to its founding in 1943. Until 1982, hunters could day hunt by paying a fee (ranging from $5 to $15) at the main gate. In 1992, Ranch Management realized that hunting offered an underutilized revenue source, and started emphasizing the management of the hunting environment. In 1996, the company started a program of capital investment to build new habitat. Since that time, over 70% of the income from hunting has been reinvested into the property. We complete one to five new fresh-water projects each year.

In addition to improving the habitat, we have an on-going program of facilities construction to improve our hunter’s experiences. Annually we add as many blinds as time and weather allow. Starting in the2003 membership year, we began a multi-phase Lodge Development Plan. We now can offer our members and their guest’s comfortable accommodations as well.

The Ranch has well over 15,000 acres available to our hunters. In 2004 had 53 managed hunting ponds, 37 of which were man-made freshwater projects. Since most of these ponds are large enough to have more than one hunting site (blinds, etc.), there are well over 100 designated hunting locations.

By limiting the number of memberships, and rotating through the hunting locations, we are assured that no party will ever be assigned to an area, which has been “hunted-out”. Our Club Manager daily tracks the bird population of all hunting areas. Area assignments are made to assure an equitable distribution of “unbelievably good” hunts among all members.

The Ranch has security staff (including peace officers and game wardens) which patrols daily to control poaching and trespassing. The security team sees to it that the birds roosting on the Ranch are not driven off by unauthorized personnel.

Starting 2004, the Ranch obtained a dove and quail hunting lease on 3200 acres from a sister company. This additional land insures our members will have plenty of game even in slow years.
